Mobile number portability (MNP) enables Mobile Phone users to retain their mobile telephone numbers when change from one mobile network operator to another network. Mobile users easily opt their best Network using Number portability service.
MNP now implemented in many countries on the Globe. Tariff charges to transfer number from one operator to another operator is applicable.
Mobile Phone Consumers Portability :
In many countries paid transaction fee by subscriber gained network. In India expect the tariff Rs.200 to 300 and not finalised. MNP may introduce before end of 2009 in India.
Department of Telecommunications (DOT) issued licence to Two Telecom MNP players to provide service in India. These two players provide service separately in two circles. TRAI ( Telecom Regulatory Authority of India) may announce tariff details before introducing Mobile Number Portability in India.
Major Disadvantage of Mobile Number Portability (MNP) is Easily can't identify the Network of the Mobile Number. OK be ready to enjoy the benefits or Advantages of MNP when implemented.

India has one of the largest Mobile Phone consume country. Mobile Number Portability is not available in India(Coming soon). India has 35 crore(Approximate) Cell Phone Connections including GSM(Global System for Mobile Communications) and CDMA(Code Division for Multiple Access).
In India Number Portability to Mobile phones Will introduce by September 20 of 2009.Many Global Countries already using the Number Portability to Cell Phones.

Syniverse Technologies and MNP Interconnection Telecom solutions India(Joint venture of Telcordia Technologies) are the two Licenced companies to provide MNP services in India. India has divided into two circles and reserved to these firms.
In first phase, The service would be introduced in four circles of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Kolkata. Next implement all over India gradually.
TRAI(Telecom Regulatory Authority of India) didn't finalise Tariff Charges to transfer from one network to another. Expect the charges below Rs.300, This charge may decrease if increase subscribers.

Actually Web Based SMS services(No need any instrument except Internet and Mobile Number) run with Ad Supported.I think all Free SMS sender websites send only lower characters. Another major problem is,They also send Advertisements with Free SMS messages. We can't send long messages for one time.
Many Web based Sms sites not supported for all Telecom Networks.Some providers support only for GSM(Global System Model) and not supports for CDMA(Code Division Multiple Access).So maximum number of free sms facility web sites give priority for Advertisers than subscribers.
Some site limits maximum number of messages,Can't send continually.In some providers not allow to send bulk SMS messages.I think indiarocks is best provider but low character support and Ads attached.
Recently I find a Website that supports Highest Character but attached Advertisement in the footer of SMS.This better,If compare to others.This is only For Indians,not for other country subscribers.Name of the website is SMS7.IN.This site sends up to 440 characters including Advertisement.Some special features also added for enhance user experience.

This is a simple post just for informative to readers. When I across web find a useful Website.You can enter the 10 digit Cellphone number that finds Location of Mobile Number and Signal means Network.This service only for India subscribers.I check some numbers for test purpose displayed Location and Signal.This is well functioned for only registered numbers in India. This service not function for all numbers,I can't find answer.It may useful for you for any purpose. I think recent and No IMEI identification numbers not found.
